Michael Sikkema on “Skull Brothers VS the Fog Monster”
My biggest horror love will always be gore and body horror. I'm a blood squib guy, but/so I also love the slow burns with little gore and a lot of ambience. I believe, mostly, that how something happens in art is more important than what happens. I'm not a fan of too much plot getting in the way of the story. I'm interested in taking film elements and seeing how they can work in verse or prose. I wanted to write a movie poem that captured the claustrophobic and paranoid feeling, the interesting confusion that can come when characters are undergoing strange transformations, when they themselves are figuring out what's happening alongside us. This is how the Skull Brothers came to me.
