Cassandra Walters on “Since He’s Been Gone”
In Greek mythology, the god Apollo fell in love with Cassandra and granted her with the gift of prophecy. However, when she denied his advances, Apollo placed a curse on her so that no one would believe her predictions.
I’ve always felt an affinity towards my namesake. While Apollo intended to ruin Cassandra, I picture her circumventing his curse for the rest of eternity.
