Scott Ferry on His Poems
The poems come from two different projects I am working on. The poem “cremation” comes from a book of prose poems titled Sapphires on the Graves coming out in 2024 from Glass Lyre Press. The poem flowed from the horror of having parts removed, having the world deconstructed, and ultimately, which parts are left to feed to the fire. The poems “130-141” and “418-431” come from a project titled 500 Hidden Teeth, which is a group of 500 linked sentences acting as “poems.” These deal with what we consume and control in our lives, especially with the ones we love; how much do we eat of others, how much are we eaten?
